Partick Thistle fans swap stands at HALF TIME as bizarre scenes leads to flares on the pitch and punter 'madness'

The start to the second half of Partick Thistle and Ayr United was delayed by fans SWAPPING stands as play looked to resume.

Jack McMillan's goal had put Kris Doolan's side ahead as teams headed down the tunnel in the Premiership play-off semi-final first leg. But as both they and Lee Bullen's men emerged from the Firhill changing rooms, fans started crossing from the Jackie Husband Stand into the North Stand, and it appeared as if it went to anything but plan.

Flares appeared on the park as the game was held up for several minutes, with both sides eventually getting balls on the park to keep moving. It was spotted on BBC's commentary of the match and James McFadden was left bemused by the odd scenes and one fan's behaviour as they had a detour onto the pitch. He said: "You can see the crowd in here want the game to continue. It is just madness and you have a man who perhaps won't be able to see his team advance to play in the Premiership (play-off final) if all goes well. It is crazy.

"It's a serious lack of stewarding I would say. Surely they can't have planned that, going to way until half-time, the game kicks off, run about like an idiot and drop two flares onto the park, it is crazy."
