'Parody account' - Sunderland fans react to William Storey's latest claims on Black Cats takeover

Sunderland fans have reacted in disbelief to drinks tycoon William Storey's latest declaration on his supposed Black Cats takeover bid.

The founder of soft-drink firm Rich Energy has repeatedly stated his intentions over recent months to complete a deal to become the new owner at the Stadium of Light.

However, a club source remains adamant Storey is not viewed by the club as a credible buyer, and current owner Stewart Donald is understood to be in a period of exclusivity with another interested party.

This dismissal has not deterred Storey from outlining his vision for the club in numerous social media posts, with one post including a picture of himself wearing a vintage Sunderland shirt outside the stadium.

The businessman claimed in a radio interview with BBC Newcastle that he had securing the backing of four "blue-chip" investors in his takeover attempt.

Storey's latest post on Tuesday claims he is expecting "answers imminently" upon a proposed takeover, and that he is keen to get started on Wearside.

However, this enthusiasm was not matched in the response from Sunderland fans, who continue to view his posts with a pinch of salt.

Here's how Sunderland facts reacted to Storey's latest post:

'Expecting M'Vila'

'Parody account'

'Lost the crowd here'

'Mag on a wind up'

'Daydream believer'

'Persistent if nothing else'
