Fans of Paolo Nutini were delighted to learn the Scottish musician is making a comeback after it was announced he will headline the TRNSMT music festival next year - marking his first performance since 2017.
The 34-year-old singer’s highly anticipated return to music couldn’t come soon enough for fans since the Paisley singer hasn’t released music since his third studio album, Caustic Love in 2014.
No doubt, Nutini will belt out his hits such as ‘Candy’, ‘Pencil Full of Lead’, ‘Jenny Don’t Be Hasty’ and ‘Iron Sky.’
The announcement was posted to Nutini’s Twitter account and was the first tweet of this year from his profile.

One fan named George will be awfully impressed with himself after he joked about starting a petition for Nutini to make a comeback - looks like the petition is no longer need now.

Pleased with himself, he tweeted after the TRNSMT news was announced: “YOU ARE ALL VERY WELCOME.”

Nutini will join fellow Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi in headlining the Glasgow gig - and like the rest of us, Capaldi has been itching for Nutini’s comeback.
In February last year, the ‘Someone You Loved’ singer even took to Twitter to share his concern at the singer’s absence from music and instigated a huge search effort to find out where Nutini was.
Notorious for his funny tweets and sense of humour, Capaldi tweeted his concern about the Candy singer to his 1.3m followers: “right enough’s enough - where the f**k is paolo nutini?
right enough's enough - where the fuck is paolo nutini?
— Lewis Capaldi (@LewisCapaldi) February 25, 2020
It got over 111,000 likes so it seems that many were just as concerned - including One Direction’s Niall Horan who hilariously replied: “I want answers.”

So we imagine, Capaldi will be delighted to be headlining alongside Nutini next year.
Other artists such as The Strokes, Beabadoobee, Foals, Fontaines D.C., Jimmy Eat World, Slowthai, The Snuts, Sigrid, and Wolf Alice have also been confirmed to be among the lineup.
Next year’s TRNSMT festival will take place at Glasgow Greens on Sunday 10th July 2022.
