Panthers C Matt Paradis reportedly out for remainder of 2021 season

The Carolina Panthers didn’t take just one big loss on Sunday.

Other than the game itself, a hapless affair that ended in a 24-6 defeat to the New England Patriots, the team has reportedly lost starting center Matt Paradis for the rest of the 2021 campaign. NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport was first on the unfortunate development.

The seventh-year lineman exited the Week 9 tilt after just the second offensive snap for the Panthers. He was carted off into the locker room with what is now being identified as an ACL tear.

Carolina has dealt with numerous issues along their offensive line this season—whether those problems have arisen through injury or just pure talent deficiency. The group is also without right guard John Miller, who is currently on the injured reserve, and may have to deal with another loss in left tackle Cameron Erving following his exit from today’s contest.

Week 10 will now mark what’ll already be the seventh different configuration of the offensive front this season.
