Pamela's wild Tommy romance in her own words - ecstasy spike, fast wedding and sex tape

Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee were one of Hollywood's most famous couples in the 1990s – and their relationship has certainly had its ups and downs.

From a stolen sex tape to Tommy's jail time, the couple well and truly went through it after first setting eyes on each other in December 1994.

They share two kids Brandon, 26, and Dylan, 25, and despite their tumultuous relationship timeline, they still found time for some wholesome family moments.

After "giving it a try 800 times", Tommy once fondly reflected on their kids' "happy faces" when they moved back in together in 2008 – following a tough decade.

Whirlwind marriage

They first met in a club on New Year's Eve in 1994. Pamela once recalled how Tommy "came up, grabbed me and licked my face".

It was after that encounter that sparked a whirlwind romance, with Tommy following Pamela to Mexico, calling every hotel in Cancun in hopes of finding the actress.

His relentless search for love was clearly a tad off-putting for Pamela who told her hotel staff if they saw a tattooed man, they must not let him in - but she quickly changed her mind.

They eventually met for a drink, into which Tommy slipped Ecstasy, something Pamela said she "didn't event know what it was".

It was during that February 1995 trip to Mexico that they tied the knot. They had spent just 96 hours together before they wed at an intimate beach ceremony.

Sex tape scandal

Things seemingly going well, Pamela moved into Tommy's home that year – but disaster struck while renovations were being carried out at the Malibu property.

Stored in a safe inside the home was a collection of the couple's intimate videos, including videos of pair naked together – in October that year, the safe went missing.

Pamela explained in a new Netflix documentary: "We didn't have any idea that anything in there was gonna be something that would hurt us."

The horror continued for Pamela and Tommy after a VHS tape wrapped in brown paper was mailed to their home one day, out of the blue.

She said: "Tommy told me to go upstairs and he watched it. And I didn't watch it. He came upstairs and said 'this is gonna be disturbing'."

Tommy told his then-wife that it was a "VHS tape of us having sex".

Tommy behind bars

It was in 1998 that the pair called it quits after Tommy was charged with felony spousal abuse after attacking Pamela at their home while she was holding their infant son.

Speaking in her new memoir, Pamela claimed: "Tommy ripped Brandon off me and threw me and Dylan into a wall."

Tommy pleaded no contest to the charge and was later sentenced to six months in prison and was prohibited from contacting Pamela.

"The divorce from Tommy was the hardest, lowest, most difficult point of my life," she recalled.

Despite the red flags, Pamela insists Tommy is the only man she ever loved. Saying in a recent interview: "I know it wasn’t perfect but, you know, no one’s perfect."

She recalled Tommy regularly visiting her on set while filming Baywatch, telling The Guardian: "Tommy was so jealous."

Recalling one stand-out Baywatch scene, Pamela said: "I had to kiss David Chokachi but I didn’t tell Tommy. He lost it. He trashed my trailer on the set, put his fist through a cabinet.

"I apologised for not telling him – lying, as he put it – and told him it wouldn’t happen again." In another outburst, Lee rammed his car into the makeup trailer before going awol, causing Pamela to attempt overdosing on vodka and Advil.

Pamela makes peace

Pamela admits the pair are now on better terms and they even gave their relationship another go back in 2008 – but it still didn’t work and they were separated by 2010.

In 2008, Tommy told Rolling Stone: "We've only given it a try 800 times – 801, here we go. Pamela and the kids have moved in with me. It's awesome. It's definitely working."

At the time, he recalled: "You can tell on the kids' faces - they're happy when we're together."

After their 2010, split Pamela went on to marry Rick Salomon for the second time and after splitting from him in 2015 she went on to marry for the fifth time, tying the knot with Dan Hayhurst.

Tommy Lee also went on to re-marry and in 2019 tied the knot with Brittany Furlan, his fourth wife.
