Pals of tragic Scots footballer found dead plan balloon release in his memory

Devastated pals of a young Scots footballer who died suddenly are planning a balloon release in his memory.

Lewis Aitchison, also known as Aitchy, was found dead within in Carmuirs Drive in Camelon, Falkirk, during the early hours of Sunday June, 5.

The 18-year-old played for the community arm of Falkirk FC team - the Falkirk Football Community Foundation.

The club said they were left 'devastated' to hear of his passing.

Everyone who knew and loved Lewis, is being asked to gather at Simpson Park in Camelon at 7:30pm on Thursday June, 10.

Posting on Facebook, a pal wrote: " Hiya Everyone

"We are going to have a balloon release for Lewis Aitchison at Simpson Park on Nailer Road Camelon just opposite Camelon Education Centre.

"7:30pm on Thursday 10th June.

"I hope we can get a good turnout for our boy. Sleep tight brother."

Lewis' death isn't being treated as suspicious.

Police Scotland has been contacted for comment.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers were called after the body of an 18-year-old man was found in the Carmuirs Drive area of Falkirk on Sunday, 6 June.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
