Paisley schoolboy hit by car outside school and rushed to hospital

A boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a car outside a school in Paisley this morning.

Emergency services scrambled to Todholm Primary School, on Lochfield Road, shortly before 9am on Friday June 23.

The 10-year-old was transported to the South Glasgow Children’s Hospital for treatment following an ankle injury.

Police Scotland say enquiries into what caused the crash are ongoing.

A spokesperson said: “Around 8.50am on Friday, 23 June, 2023, we received a report of a crash involving a car and a 10-year-old boy on Lochfield Road, Paisley.

“Enquiries into the cause of the crash are ongoing.”

A Renfrewshire Council spokesperson said: “A 10-year-old pupil at Todholm Primary School was involved in a collision with a vehicle on Lochfield Road this morning resulting in an ankle injury.

"Emergency services attended the scene, and the pupil was taken to hospital for further treatment. School staff wish the pupil a speedy recovery.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 08:47 to attend an incident on Lochfield Road, Paisley.

"Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to South Glasgow Children’s Hospital.”
