Paddy McGuinness calls vasectomy 'a doddle' in tell all Instagram post

Paddy McGuinness has called undergoing a vasectomy "a doddle" in a brutally honest Instagram post.

So men, you may want to read cautiously.

The new Top Gear host revealed on his social media page that he underwent "the auld snippy snappy snoo" - which in NHS terms is a surgical procedure to cut or seal the tubes that carry a man's sperm to permanently prevent pregnancy, and is usually carried out under local anaesthetic.

Paddy, 45, made the announcement fresh out of the hospital with even his patient band still attached to his wrist to prove it.

The Bolton comic and presenter is married to Real Housewives of Cheshire star Christine McGuinness and the couple are parents to five-year-old twins Penelope and Leo and one-year-old Felicity.

In the Instagram video, Paddy went into A LOT of detail as he recovered from today's operation at home, along with a towel full of ice.

Addressing his 1.1m followers, he said: "Patient McGuinness is home. Gentlemen, if you're thinking about having a vastectomy and are a little bit reluctant, as I was, the initial anaesthetic, what they give you into the ol' pippins, I'm not gonna lie, that's tender.

"It made my eyes water a little bit that. But after that, honestly, it's a doddle."

Paddy then ended his message with: "I'm currently resting up at home with a towel full of ice on the old nicky nacky noos.

"But I'll keep you up to speed."

He also made light of the procedure by captioning the video: "Home now after having the auld snippy snappy snoo. Currently resting up with a bag of ice on my nadgers," before adding the hashtags 'vasectomy' and 'testicletuesday.'

The post has received more than 40,000 views in an hour with many taking to the comments to praise the Take Me Out star for speaking out.

One said: "So refreshing to hear a man be so positive. Its a shame more men dont think like you have. They expect us to go through an operation that is far more serious after also having the children!!!. Well Done Paddy."

"Pregnant with my third, ill be sure to show the hubby," added another.
