A 20-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing in west London.

Police officers closed streets near Edgware Road after being called to Hall Place at 5.20pm on Wednesday to reports of a stabbing.

A Met Police spokesman initially said the 20-year-old man was treated at scene and taken to hospital with “potentially life-threatening” injuries but later said his life was not in danger.

They added that following the incident a Section 60 Order, which allows officers to stop and search people without suspicion, was authorised covering the boroughs of Westminster and Kensington and Chelsea.

No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call 101 ref CAD 5342/27 Jan.

There were more than 10,000 knife crime offences in London between June 2020 and June 2021.

Last year also saw the highest number of teenage homicides in a year in London since records began – most of which involved knife attacks.
