A teenager has been stabbed to death in the latest violent killing to take place in the capital.

The Metropolitan Police were called to Paddington Green, at 9.10pm last night, where they found the 19-year-old victim.

Images on social media show dozens of people spilling out on to nearby Edgware Road as paramedics battled to save his life.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the victim’s next of kin have been informed.

No arrests have yet been made. A crime scene remains in place while police continue their investigation.

MPS Westminster said extra stop-and-search powers were in place to prevent further violence until 5am tomorrow.

Hours earlier, another murder probe was launched after a teenager was stabbed to death near a pub in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex last night.

Police said the victim, 18, tragically died in hospital. Officers have arrested two men as part of their investigation, Essex Police said.

The force added: “From our initial enquiries, we believe he was attacked near The Peterboat pub in High Street, Old Leigh.

“Two people have been arrested in connection with our investigation.”

Anyone with information on the Paddington Green murder is urged to call 101 or tweet @MetCC with the reference CAD7919/26FEB.

Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
