Packers sign rookie WR Malik Taylor to 90-man roster

The Green Bay Packers added a rookie receiver before the start of training camp.

The team announced the signing of Malik Taylor, an undrafted free agent from Ferris State, on Friday.

Taylor originally signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the draft but was released following the team’s rookie minicamp.

A 6-3, 211-pound receiver, Taylor caught 121 passes for 2,091 yards over his first three collegiate seasons. He was an all-conference pick as a junior but missed his entire senior season with a hamstring injury.

At Central Michigan’s pro day, Taylor ran the 40-yard dash in under 4.5 seconds, hit 36″ in the vertical and 10-6 in the broad jump, did 11 reps on the bench press and finished the three-cone drill in 6.81 seconds and the short shuttle in 4.02.

The Packers were reportedly highly interested in Taylor ahead of the 2019 NFL draft.

Signing Taylor brings the Packers roster to 90 players. The team reports to training camp on July 24 and starts practice on July 25.
