Packers re-sign RB Patrick Taylor to practice squad

Patrick Taylor is back. The Green Bay Packers re-signed the third-year running back to the practice squad on Thursday, just two days after releasing him from the 53-man roster to make room for Kylin Hill.

Taylor, 24, spent six weeks on the active roster. He played one snap on offense and 69 on special teams, tallying two tackles.

Hill, who came off the PUP list on Wednesday, is taking over as the No. 3 running back on the roster.

Taylor was elevated from the practice squad in Week 2, meaning he will have two more elevations available over the rest of the season, so the Packers can still use him on the gameday roster if special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia needs the help.

The Packers made room on the practice squad by releasing outside linebacker Kobe Jones on Tuesday.

Taylor arrived in Green Bay as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis in 2020. He played in nine games last year and scored his first career touchdown during the Packers’ season-ending loss to the Lions at Ford Field.
