Packers re-sign CB Kevin King to one-year, $6M deal

The Green Bay Packers are bringing back cornerback Kevin King.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Packers and King agreed to a one-year deal worth $6 million for the 2021 season.

King, a second-round pick of the Packers in 2017, played out his four-year rookie contract and was an unrestricted free agent. He returns after starting 25 games for the Packers over the last two seasons.

King has six career interceptions and 27 pass breakups. He had a breakout 2019 season with five picks and 15 pass breakups but struggled at times in 2020, intercepting just one pass and defending five others. He’s also missed 23 games to injury over the last four seasons.

With King back, the Packers will return all three starting cornerbacks from last season’s defense, including All-Pro Jaire Alexander and starting slot cornerback Chandon Sullivan.
