Packers RB Aaron Jones named FedEx Ground Player of the Week for Week 5

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones has won the second of two weekly awards for his efforts against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The NFL named Jones as the winner of the FedEx Ground Player of the Week on Thursday, just days after he was announced as the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week.

Jones produced 107 rushing yards and tied a franchise record with four rushing touchdowns while adding seven catches for 75 more yards during the Packers’ 34-24 win over the Cowboys in Week 5. The 182 total yards and four scores were both career-highs for Jones, who now leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns with eight scores in five games.

Jones beat out Carolina Panthers running Christian McCaffrey and Oakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs for the award.

Jones previously won the Ground Player of the Week award in Week 7 of the 2017 season after rushing for 131 yards and two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints. He was previously nominated for the award in Week 2.
