Packers not expecting to have LB De’Vondre Campbell vs. Cowboys

The Green Bay Packers may have to defend Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard without the help of an All-Pro linebacker on Sunday.

Per coach Matt LaFleur, De’Vondre Campbell isn’t expected to be available against the Dallas Cowboys this week and will likely miss his second straight game with a knee injury.

“We were hopeful that he would be available this week, but it’s looking highly unlikely,” LaFleur said. “He’s not where we need him to be, I guess.”

Campbell did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

He initially hurt his knee during the first half of the Packers’ loss to the Buffalo Bills in Week 8.

Not only will the Packers not have Campbell, but edge rusher Rashan Gary is out for the season and cornerback Eric Stokes is “unlikely” to play again in 2022.

LaFleur called Elliott and Pollard “dynamic” as runners. Without Campbell, and possibly without Krys Barnes, the Packers will likely lean on Isaiah McDuffie next to rookie Quay Walker at linebacker on Sunday. McDuffie looked excellent against the run last week against the Lions.
