Pac-12 releases basketball schedule alignment

June 09--The full Pac-12 basketball schedule won't be finalized until early September, but the conference released the important parts on Monday. Namely, UCLA now knows roughly when it will play each team -- and which teams it will avoid playing twice.

The full schedule alignment is below:

Dec. 30 -- Jan. 3 at Washington State and Washington

Jan. 6-10 vs. Arizona and Arizona State

Jan. 13-17 vs. USC

Jan. 20-24 at Oregon State and Oregon

Jan. 27-31 vs. Washington and Washington State

Feb. 3-7 at USC

Feb. 10-14 at Arizona and Arizona State

Feb. 17-21 vs. Colorado and Utah

Feb. 24-28 at California and Stanford

March 2-6 at Oregon and Oregon State

So what does that mean for the Bruins? Another season of avoiding two games against one of the conference's best teams.

Last season, UCLA played Arizona, the Pac-12 champion, only once. This season, UCLA plays Utah, last season's regular season runner-up, once -- at home at Pauley Pavilion.

It also avoids a double series with Colorado, Stanford and California, which just hauled in perhaps the strongest recruiting class in the Pac-12.

The final schedule is released closer to the season to accommodate television broadcast partners and ensure that all games are televised.
