Days before Ozzy Osbourne‘s death was confirmed by his family, he was the victim of a death hoax.
The falsified news that the Black Sabbath front man had passed away circulated online last week, eventually resulting in his daughter, Kelly Osbourne, making a stern public statement on her Instagram Stories.
“There’s this video going around on social media, and it’s supposed to be my dad, but it’s AI,” she said on July 12.
“It has a voice like my dad’s David Attenborough or something. And it starts out saying, ‘I don’t need a doctor to tell me that I’m going to die. I know I’m going to die’.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you people? Why would you spend your time making a video like this?”

Kelly continued, admitting that her father was suffering from Parkinson’s and health issues, but ultimately was doing okay.
“He’s not dying. Yes, he has Parkinson’s, and yes, his mobility is completely different than it used to be, but he’s not dying. What is wrong with you?” she said.
The television personality went on to correct widespread rumours that her mother Sharon Osbourne had a death pact with her father. The whispers kicked off in 2017 when The View star straight up told British tabloid The Mirror that she and Ozzy had plans to utilise euthanasia methods if they ever found themselves affected by a condition like Alzheimer’s.
“Ozzy and I have absolutely come to the same decision,” she said.
“We believe 100 per cent in euthanasia, so we have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains. If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer’s, that’s it — we’d be off.
“I saw my father suffer from the day he came back into my life in 2002 to the day he died in July. There’s no way I could go through what he did, or put my kids through that.”
However, according to Kelly, Sharon and Ozzy were never really serious about their death pact.
“Stop making articles or posts about how you think my parents are having a suicide pact,” she continued on Instagram Stories.
“That was bullshit, my mom said to get attention one time. And my dad’s not dying. Stop.”

Tragically, the Osbourne family confirmed that the beloved Prince of Darkness passed away on July 23. They did not specify a cause of death.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the family confirmed via a public statement.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Ozzy was 76 years old.
