Athletes from abroad might be invited to five of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic test events that will resume in April following a one-year hiatus after the Games were postponed, the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Games said Monday.
The committee is in the process of working out the details.
The tests are scheduled to resume on April 3 and 4 with wheelchair rugby, and 18 events in all -- along with operational analyses -- are set to take place through late May.
Of these test events, five are expected to include athletes from overseas in athletics, artistic swimming, diving, marathon and volleyball.
Each of these events is also said to be in the running to allow spectators.
