Over 500 Activision Blizzard employees sign petition calling for CEO Bobby Kotick’s resignation

A massive group of Activision Blizzard employees has signed a petition calling for CEO Bobby Kotick to resign.

The petition currently has over 500 signatures and is only the latest effort from Activision Blizzard staff asking for Kotick’s resignation. A statement elaborates on the petition’s intentions.

“We, the undersigned, no longer have confidence in the leadership of Bobby Kotick as the CEO of Activision Blizzard,” workers said  in a statement. “The information that has come to light about his behaviors and practices in the running of our companies runs counter to the culture and integrity we require of our leadership–and directly conflicts with the initiatives started by our peers.

“We ask that Bobby Kotick remove himself as CEO of Activision Blizzard, and that shareholders be allowed to select the new CEO without the input of Bobby, who we are aware owns a substantial portion of the voting rights of the shareholders.”

Activision Blizzard currently employs  roughly 9,500 people  among its various studios. So there will likely be many more signatures in the coming days.

Shareholders also  joined the call for Kotick’s resignation Wednesday. Due to Activision Blizzard being a massive presence in the games industry, notable figures from outside the company have begun weighing in on everything happening — including PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan, who was ‘stunned’ by leadership’s response to recent allegations.
