LUCKNOW: Over 100 students of Lucknow University qualified the NET-JRF examination conducted by the University Grants Commission. An MA (political science) student Archit Pandey scored a perfect 100 percentile.
Meanwhile, around a dozen students of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Language University and 35 students of Dr Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University also qualified for the national level examination that makes one eligible for teaching in higher education institutes.
“It is a moment of pride for us that over 100 students from 18 departments of the University have qualified NET-JRF. The department of Sociology has the maximum achievers with 11 students qualifying for JRF and 11 in NET followed by the department of Political Science with 5 JRF’s and 12 NET’s,” said vice-chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai. He said students from applied economics, Sanskrit, geography, home science, library science, history, psychology, Persian, English and economics also qualified.
At BBAU, students from the library and information science, Law, sociology, statistics, mass communication and journalism and political science qualified for the exam, while at KMCLU, students from history, commerce, business management, English, education and Urdu department cleared the exam
