Residents of a small Greater Manchester town have been left outraged after rude graffiti was sprayed on a footpath.
Choice words and phrases such as 'c***', 'd***', and 'fat f***' were daubed on a path close to the Tesco Superstore, in Little Lever, along with a crude attempt at a penis. The graffiti has since been painted over but it upset some people living in the community.
In the comments of a Facebook post on the 'Little Lever' page, Heather Pickup wrote: "Oh lovely! What is word coming too! Absolutely disgraceful". Louise Fisher also commented: "This will continue to happen until we get a police presence to discourage the idiots who do it."

However, other people saw the funny side. Gary Murday joked: "I See banksy has moved location to little lever," and Nicola Hunter wrote: "Surprised it’s all spelt correctly to be honest." Another Facbeook user compared it to a famous scene in the sitcom 'I'm Alan Partridge', in which Alan's car has 'c*** p*** Partridge' sprayed on it.
Little Lever and Darcy Lever First councillor Sean Hornby told the Manchester Evening News that he contacted Bolton Council as soon as he became aware of it, to get it removed. Coun Hornby added that anti-social behaviour in Little Lever is 'out of control'.
"Something like that has to be dealt with very quickly," he said. "When it's something offensive like that it has to be sorted straight away."
