Our Liverpool: Fireworks set off in city centre ahead of match

Hello and good afternoon.

Welcome to Our Liverpool - here I'll be showcasing some of our most important stories so you won't miss the stories that really matter in Liverpool and across the Merseyside. I'm going to start with football news.

There was much excitement yesterday as the Real Madrid team arrived at city centre hotel INNSiDE. Fans waited outside to catch a glimpse of the players who will face Liverpool tonight in the UEFA Champions League match.

Videos shared on Twitter showed numerous fireworks being set off in close proximity to the hotel in the early hours of Tuesday. Police confirmed they attended the scene at around 12.55am.

Elsewhere, our reporter Paddy Edrich has taken a look at the three Merseyside school which have received the lowest Ofsted rating. Below, we talk more about this and other stories.

Ofsted ratings for Merseyside schools

Three Merseyside schools have the worst possible rating from Ofsted inspections carried out in the last two years.

The Salesian Academy of St John Bosco, Sacred Heart Catholic College and Progress Schools in Toxteth were all rated inadequate.
