Dame Laura Kenny has revealed that she and fellow Olympian Jason Kenny have welcomed a daughter after years of fertility struggles.

The former British professional track and road cyclist, 33, took to Instagram to share their happy news and offer a first-glimpse at the newborn.

The Harlow-born athlete also confirmed their new addition’s adorable name.

“Three’s the magic number. Lilian Joyce Kenny Born on 4/5/25 at 10.44am. Weighing 8.0lbs,” she penned, alongside images of the youngster laying between her two older brothers.

All three sported personalised embroidered sweatshirts with their names on.

'Can’t stop calling her, him,” Kenny continued. “There was only ever one name we had in mind for a daughter. A mix of both our Nan’s names.

“Our beautiful little family is complete,” she added.

Dame Laura has spoken openly in the past about her difficulties to concerive and previously revealed that elite sport may have caused her “out of control” body to suffer a miscarriage.

Britain's most successful female Olympian, she has achieved five gold medals and a silver from three separate Olympic games.

She married cyclist Jason, 37, in 2016 and they welcomed their first child together in 2017.

Kenny suffered a miscarried in November 2021 and had an ectopic pregnancy five months later.

An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilised egg grows outside of the womb - usually in one of the fallopian tubes - requiring emergency surgery.

Opening up to Radio 4's Today programme, she confessed: “Everything was a shock - I went from being so in control of my body to being so out of control.

“Was my body just running on empty, and then it said, ‘Well, hang on, there's no way we can do this?’.”

She successfully gave birth to another son, Monty, in July 2023, by which time she had started to talk publicly about her baby losses.

Kenny first announced her latest pregnancy last New Year’s Eve.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a video of her children wearing t-shirts that read: “I'm going to be a big brother to a baby”.

She captioned the post: “2024 was wonderful, 2025 is going to be even more special.”
