NEW DELHI: Athiya Shetty, wife of Indian cricketer KL Rahul, delighted fans by announcing that the couple is expecting their first child in 2025.
Sharing the news on social media, Athiya referred to the baby as their “beautiful blessing,” expressing excitement for the new addition to their family.
"Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025,” Athiya posted on Instagram.
The announcement has brought joy to fans and well-wishers, who have flooded the couple’s posts with congratulations and heartfelt messages.
Rahul and Athiya, who married in January 2023, will welcome their first child next year.
Rahul, who made his Test debut against Australia in 2014, has garnered 2969 runs in 52 Tests, averaging 34.52. In 2024, he has featured in four Tests, scoring 222 runs at an average of 44.40, with two fifties.
Rahul, who had a bad outing in both the innings against Australia A while playing for India A, will be eager to make his way in the team's starting eleven for the Border–Gavaskar Trophy, with the first Test of the five-match series starting on November 22 in Perth.
