Osi Umenyiora ‘personally hurt’ by Giants’ decision to bench Eli Manning

On Tuesday, most of the football world was shocked to hear that after just two games, the New York Giants were moving on from Eli Manning in favor of rookie Daniel Jones.

Former teammates of Manning, including Shaun O’Hara and David Diehl, have spoke out against the move, showing their displeasure in the Giants’ decision.

Many believe that the Giants failed Eli Manning by not giving him enough to work with in the last few years. Former teammate and two-time Super Bowl champion, Osi Umenyiora, is the latest to defend Manning and also believes that the team didn’t surround Eli with enough talent.

Umenyiora was a part of both Giants Super Bowl rosters led by Manning. Like many Giant fans, Umenyiora and other former players have had a tough time with the news this week. It’s truly the end of an era which many of having problems coming to terms with.
