Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne has been honoured by fans during a public procession in his home town in Birmingham, England, following his death last week.
The 76-year-old passed away on July 22, just weeks after he performed his final ‘Back To The Beginning’ gig with the original line-up of Black Sabbath. In tribute to the Prince of Darkness, thousands of fans lined the streets as he made his final trip through town.

Ozzy’s body was carried by hearse through the streets, with his coffin adorned by a purple crucifix and matching flowers which spelt out his name. Fans could be heard shouting “Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy” while a live brass band played music as the procession made its way down the road.
The ceremony was funded by the Osbourne family, with Osbourne’s wife, Sharon, and his children, Kelly, Jack, Aimee and Louis, in attendance.

Sharon and Ozzy had been married for more than four decades, and she honoured her late husband by wearing his wedding band around her neck. Meanwhile, Kelly paid tribute to her father by wearing his signature circular glasses.
The family were brought to tears by the touching messages left by fans at the bench dedicated to the “Into The Void” singer.
“It was important to the city that we support a fitting, dignified tribute ahead of a private family funeral,” said Zafar Iqbal, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham.
“We know how much this moment will mean to his fans. We’re proud to host it here with his loving family in the place where it all began.”

Ozzy passed away early last week, with his family sharing a statement announcing his death shortly after.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement read.
“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Ozzy Osbourne was the frontman of the iconic Birmingham metal band Black Sabbath. The band has gone down in history as being one of the most successful metal bands of all time and is heralded as pioneers of the genre. Ozzy specifically was known for his eccentric and outlandish stage presence.
In his later life, Ozzy gained notoriety as a television star when his family starred in the reality series The Osbournes. In 2019, Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and has reportedly been in poor health over the past year.
He will be laid to rest in a private funeral service in the coming weeks.
