Now I don’t know about you, but pretty much every break-up of mine has involved some light social media stalking, a curated feed of living my new best life, and the odd motivational quote (because hey, a girl’s still got ~layers~). Turns out, me and Orlando Bloom might just be following the same formula following his split from Katy Perry.
Fresh off a break-up after nearly ten years together, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor has taken to cryptic Instagram Stories, apparently looking at a “new beginning” and “taking that first step”.
Celebs, they really do be just like us.
In two Instagram Stories posted on Tuesday (local time), Bloom appeared to address the split with the “Dark Horse” singer, first by posting a quote by Buddha.
“Each day is a new beginning. What we do today is what matters most,” the post read. Honestly, feels.
The 48-year-old followed this up by sharing a post about being brave enough to “take that first step”, quoting Japanese author Daisaku Ikeda.
“The important thing is to take that first step. Bravely overcoming one small fear gives you the courage to take on the next,” the post read.
Plus, as if we needed any more proof that a break-up sucks whether you’re a lil’ Sydney writer or a global star, Bloom opted to go the “dance your troubles away” route last week, rocking up solo to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s big Venice wedding.
The actor was seen “partying hard” to the point of getting “sweaty”, a source on the scene told Page Six.
Another source promised, “He’s the life of the party and he’s gonna hit the dance floor hard!”
Bloom reportedly buddied up with Leonardo DiCaprio at the shindig, with TMZ reporting the two partied it up with the Kardashians and Sydney Sweeney after the reception.
And speaking of the Kardashians, who can forget the internet doing the most less than 24 hours after news of his split broke, frothing at pics of him greeting Kim with air kisses and hugs at the Gritti Palace hotel.
Still, if you’re wondering about girl-code, the bride-to-be Sánchez did manage to sneak in some love for Perry, who’s busy touring Australia and had to skip out on all the festivities.
Responding to an Instagram carousel posted by Perry of her frolicking on the beach, playing card games, and hanging out with a quokka (remember what I said about showing off your #bestlife?), Sánchez commented “We miss you Katy” with a heart emoji.
Hey, at least they’ll always have those 11 minutes in space and all the cursed memes that came with it.
