Orioles Announcer Kevin Brown Does Flawless Blink-182 Impression During Blowout Loss

Most baseball fans probably hadn’t heard of Orioles announcer Kevin Brown before he unfortunately made headlines last week, but it’s obvious why Baltimore fans adore him.

Brown, the main play-by-play voice for MASN, was absent from O’s broadcasts for nearly three weeks after the team suspended him for reciting statistics about Baltimore’s recent record against the Rays. But he’s back in the booth now, and hasn’t missed a beat

Tuesday night’s game against the Padres didn’t go well for the Orioles, as they quickly fell behind 10–0. But Brown did his best to keep the loyal viewers entertained during the blowout.

During the sixth inning, Brown found out that his broadcast partner, Ben McDonald, wasn’t familiar with the pop-punk band Blink-182. Brown couldn’t believe it, and decided he needed to sing like Tom DeLonge to make sure McDonald wasn’t mistaken.

Here’s a longer (lower-quality) video that gives a little more context for how Brown and McDonald landed on the subject. The band is from the San Diego area and DeLonge is a big Padres fan

Every baseball announcer’s highlight reel should include moments like this. Walk-off home runs are the plays fans remember, but goofing off in the booth is what keeps fans tuning in even when the game is out of reach.
