Orange Line CTA trains were running with delays Monday afternoon after a woman was struck and critically injured at Halsted.

A 25-year-old woman was hit by a train about 3:30 p.m. at the Halsted station in the 2500 block of South Archer Avenue, according to Chicago Fire Department officials. She was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

The Chicago Transit Authorities said trains were standing at Halsted Street due to a medical emergency.

Service resumed with residual delays and congestion by 4:30 p.m., the CTA said.

Fire officials initially said the woman was 22 years old.
