Warning: spoilers for Orange Is The New Black season 7
Netflix has released the final season of Orange Is The New Black and it features some huge ending for our favourite Litchfield inmates.
Some got peaceful endings, including series lead Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) who had her freedom but planned to reunite with her beloved Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) when she is released.
One who sadly wasn't so lucky was Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett (Taryn Manning).
Despite initially being an antagonistic presence in the early seasons, later episodes saw the character humanised and reveal a sweet and abused figure, but in the final run as she put her all into receiving a diploma via lessons with Taystee (Danielle Brook), we saw her story end in tragedy.
Convinced she had failed her qualification, Pennsatucky got high on drugs before dying from an overdose.
Tragically, we later found out that she had passed her exam.
The sad end for the character led to a outpouring of grief on social media.
One fan wrote on Twitter: "Pennsatucky deserved so much more"
Another agreed: "Out of all the gut wrenching things that happened this season this was the one that got me the most :("
One person noted: "Pennsatucky dying thinking that she failed bc of her dyslexia. But she passed and even got her certificate. But it’s too late #OITNB"
One viewer said: "The fact that Pennsatucky passed her GED exam but overdosed before finding out was devastating but it honestly saved Taystee"
There was anger too: "IF IT WASNT FOR LUSCHECK PENNSATUCKY WOULDVE BEEN STILL ALIVE"
But mostly there was outright sadness: "Nnnnnooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pennsatucky!!!!!!"
It was certainly gut-wrenching, and we will miss Manning in her charming role.
RIP Pennsatucky.
