Opening date announced for new Homesense store in Parc Trostre

Staff at Homesense are gearing up to open the doors to their new store in Parc Trostre, Llanelli later this week. According to Google Shopping, the home goods store is set to launch on Thursday, March 30.

The new opening comes after Homesense made a shock announcement that it was to close its store at Fforestfach Retail Park in Swansea - though WalesOnline understands few jobs will be lost as the company has offered its Swansea staff rolesat the new Llanelli store.

The opening of the Llanelli Homesense store, which is set to coincide with the closure of the Swansea store, will also see a TK Maxx open at Parc Trostre. To get the latest Swansea news stories to your inbox, sign up to our newsletter

In a statement, Homesense said earlier that it was "grateful" to customers for their support for the store in Swansea, and hoped they would visit the new one when it opened.

“We’re planning to relocate this Homesense store and create an exciting TK Maxx and Homesense Superstore at Parc Trostre Retail Park in Llanelli," a spokesperson said in January. "This store will likely be closing at the end of March and transferring to the new superstore which is planned to open at the same time. All associates have been offered roles in our new superstore. We’re very grateful to all our customers for supporting this store and look forward to seeing you in our store in Llanelli."

The latest update from Parc Trostre adds: "HomeSense is coming to Parc Trostre! Not long to wait until our TKMaxx expands its homeware section with Homesense. Hit refresh with style and savings on everyday essentials and seasonal steals. Everything your home needs will soon be in-store!"
