Online Lotto player in Galway scoops over €200,000

It was a Bank Holiday weekend to remember for a lucky online Lotto player who scooped over €200,000.

The Galway punter, who played in last night's draw, won €207,500 after matching five numbers and the bonus ball.

This person was one number short of winning the entire Lotto jackpot of €5,416,153.

They joined 108 players who won a share in a special €1 million Lotto Plus Raffle top up - each winning €9,759.

The National Lottery is asking its online players in Galway to check their emails and National Lottery accounts this morning.

The numbers from last night’s Lotto draw were 04, 14, 23, 27, 33, 38 and the bonus number was 43.

The all-important Lotto Plus Raffle number which will land players €9,759 each was 4314.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said:  “While one lucky player in Galway is €207,500 richer this morning, there are also 108 other winners scattered throughout the country who have won €9,759 each.

"What we are asking all of our players to do is to check their tickets –or if they play online –check their emails and accounts to see if they are a prize winner this morning.

"Each of winners of the Raffle can claim their prize at their local An Post Prize Claim Centres or by contacting the National Lottery. If you are our Galway winner of €207,500, please get in touch our prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email  claims@lottery.ie and we will make arrangements for you to get your prize.”

There was no winner of last night’s Lotto jackpot of €5,416,153 which rolls to an estimated €6 million for next Wednesday’s draw, August 5.

Nearly 30 cent in every €1 spent on all National Lottery games goes back to good causes in the areas of sport, youth, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage and the Irish Language.

In total more than €5.6 Billion has been raised for good causes since the National Lottery was established 33 years ago.

In 2019 alone, €252 million was raised for local good causes in communities across Ireland.
