Online fitness workouts set to continue as season return is pushed back further

Online workouts on video application Zoom will be continuing for football clubs across the region.

The coronavirus pandemic continues to leave all but the Scottish Premiership and Championship teams unable to train or play matches.

The existing temporary suspension of football was this week extended until midnight on Sunday, February 14.

East of Scotland League side Luncarty had made a strong start to the Conference B when action was halted at the start of January.

The Bleachers sat second-from-top with a record of six wins and one defeat from their seven fixtures.

Currently unable to meet as a group in order to halt the spread of the virus, training has moved back online.

Qualified personal trainer Jack Parr has been leading fitness sessions via video screen in order to keep players on the move.

Manager Robbie Holden is looking forward to a time when football returns to normality.

“It’s been tough, we all miss the football and the interaction with the team,” he told the PA.

“We have reset challenges for the players to replace training with a combination of running and Zoom classes.

“Working with Jack has been great. He knows a lot of the players and his sessions are tailored for our team. He is excellent at what he does and we felt the benefits of his sessions during previous lockdown when facilities were limited.

“It will give us a level of fitness to return when we are allowed to do so.”
