One person has been taken to hospital following a crash on the Central Motorway during Tuesday morning's rush hour.
Emergency services were called to the scene after the crash close to the junction with Grandstand Road in Newcastle at about 8.20am. Travel time was more than half an hour as the road was initially closed completely before both lanes were reopened.
Despite the fact that one person has been taken to hospital and two were checked over at the scene, none of the injuries are thought to be serious. The road is now completely reopened.
