One office worker’s polarizing bagel order is wreaking havoc on Twitter

If you happened to be away from Twitter on Wednesday afternoon, you may not be aware of the shocking image that has rattled offices and workplaces across the country.

On Monday, Twitter user Alek Krautmann shared a photo of two boxes of bagels from Panera. Instead of the typical horizontal slice that separates a bagel into two pieces, the bagels had been sliced vertically, a method that Krautmann writes is a “St. Louis secret.”

Krautmann’s tweet was ratioed immediately, and countless Twitter users were enraged at the sight of bread-sliced bagels.

More open-minded bagel enthusiasts are intrigued.

There’s also a large contingent of St. Louisans who have never heard of this supposed “secret” of the city.
