Nottingham Forest moved on from consecutive defeats with a deserved 2-1 win at Luton Town on Saturday.
There were no ill effects of losing to Wigan and Hull, or their postponed fixture against Reading, as goals from Lewis Grabban and Sammy Ameobi saw them triumph at Kenilworth Road.
Grabban missed a golden chance in the 12 minute, but he is not one to pass up a second opportunity and he made amends in the 39th minute when he shook off James Bree to finish neatly - his sixth goal of the season.
The Hatters had a goal disallowed in the 23rd minute, when Dan Potts converted at the second attempt at the far post, only to be flagged offside.
Forest were the better side in the second half with Joe Lolley heading wide before Ameobi turned and fired in his cross.
James Collins had a ruled out for offside as Luton looked for a way back, before sub Callum McManaman curled in what proved to be a fine consolation with three minutes to go.
Afterwards, Reds correspondent Sarah Clapson gave her verdict on the game.
