West Ham goalkeeper Roberto Jimenez had an absolute nightmare for his loan club Alaves on Sunday night as his team were routed 6-0 by Celta Vigo in La Liga.
The keeper joined the Spanish side in the January transfer window after a dreadful time in between the sticks in east London deputising for Lukasz Fabianski having been brought to the club as backup over the summer.
Fabianski picked up a hip injury in a draw at Bournemouth in September and the Spaniard deputised for him for eight games. He conceded 17 goals, including three in three successive games in December and led to some labelling him the worst goalkeeper the Premier League had ever seen after committing some high profile errors.
He punched the ball into his own net during defeat to Burnley, was badly beaten at his near post against Everton, flapped at a shot from Son Heung-Min that allowed the Spurs striker to score at London Stadium and there are p-lenty more as well.
Former manager Manuel Pellegrini persisted with Roberto for far too long before replacing him with David Martin, who subsequently kept a clean sheet on debut in a win over Chelsea. David Moyes replaced Pellegrini in December, signed Darren Randolph and shipped Roberto out of the club within three weeks to Alaves.

The goalkeeper hadn’t seen much game time prior to the coronavirus hiatus in La Liga but since its return, he has deputised for regular Alaves stopper Fernando Pacheco, who was sent off in defeat to Espanyol, Roberto’s former club.
Roberto conceded two that day when he entered the fray, it woiuld have been three after he missed apunch clear but the goal was ruled out for offside in the buildup.
However, he followed that up with his first clean sheet in nearly a year as Alaves beat Real Sociedad 2-0. But the good time was not to last.
Celta Vigo whacked six past the Hammers keeper at the weekend though Roberto’s side were down to ten men in 17th minute as they had right back Martín Aguirregabiria sent off, their third red card in three games since La Liga’s resumption.
34-year-old Roberto still has a year left to run on his contract in east London but he has no future in east London and if the club can find a buyer this summer then he will be sold and got off the wage bill.
