An Olympic gold-medal winner has caused controversy after posting a picture of her doing a headstand whilst breastfeeding her baby son.
Snowboarder Torah Bright posted a selection of snaps to her Facebook page this week praising her new role as a mother to 10-month-old baby son Flow.
The Olympian, who has won numerous gold, silver and bronze medals, shared pictures of herself with husband and fellow snowboarder, Angus Thompson and their son and in one of the pictures she is seen doing a headstand while baby Flow is latched on feeding.
While some followers praised the 34-year-old mum for advocating for breastfeeding anywhere, others blasted her for putting her son 'in danger' and posting the picture 'for likes'.
Some fans lauded the medalist, saying: "Well done Torah! And I thought breastfeeding whilst at a checkout was impressive! Breastfeeding is hard and we should all support mums more!"
Another joked: "Now that’s a balanced meal."
A third added: "I think this is beautiful mum is very fit n bubs happy just love this pic."
"That baby will be fine. And I love that pic. It's beautiful. Anybody with negative opinions has some internal issues they need to address," said another.
A fifth person added: "I think this is beautiful mum is very fit n bubs happy just love this pic."
However the Australian sportswoman received some harsh criticism from those who weren't happy about the picture.
One said: "It's all fun and games till he bites her nipple and she falls on him causing a head injury..... Surely there are better ways to get peoples attention. Like clown school for example."
"I don’t have kids but I wouldn’t let anyone nor myself do a headstand (pro or not) around any baby I care about," agreed someone else.
Another scathing comment said: "I feel sorry for the kid on its 21st. How embarrassing."
Another follower accused Bright of 'attention seeking', saying: "Nothing wrong with breastfeeding but it doesn't need to be plastered all over social media for nothing more than attention."
Someone else agreed, adding: "Jesus. That poor kid will realise one day he was just used for the likes and the lolz. Seriously though why show the whole world this?"
While another harshly accused her of 'blatant narcissism', saying: "Beautiful to see mothers breastfeed.. But your photo screams of Blatant Narcissism. How much attention do you need!!! So selfish. You could fall over & hurt your baby."
Earlier this month Bright posted a picture of her skateboarding whilst breastfeeding.
In 2014 Bright became the first Olympic athlete , male or female, to qualify for all three snowboarding disciplines; halfpipe, slopestyle and boarder-cross.
She responded to the comments saying they left her feeling 'sad'.
Posting on Instagram, she said: ""Reading some of these comments made me sad.
"In my world, mothers should be each other's cheer leaders (it's hard enough). Embrace our quirkiness and finding the joy in every sh***y thing that is motherhood.
"We all do it differently. It is not wrong or right. Motherhood is pure. I only now consider myself a Wonder Woman because I have joined the sacred MOTHERS club with you.
"Nothing but respect to all mothers."
