Babe, wake up, Olivia Rodrigo has finally announced her new album. Just days after seemingly burying the hatchet with both Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter, the singer-songwriter has continued to prove she’s in her “lover” era with the news of OR3.
Titled You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, the album is set for release on June 12 — so the countdown is officially on. Rodrigo cleared her Instagram before making the announcement, writing on social media that she is “so proud of this record” and “can’t wait” for fans to hear it in just over a month.

The announcement has sent fans into a spiral on social media, as not only does the cover not have any purple like her previous two albums, SOUR and GUTS, but the title is more than four letters.
The release date is also quite significant, as June 12th is National Loving Day in the US, Dia dos Namorados (aka Lovers’ Day) in Brazil and Independence Day in the Philippines.
Everything we know about You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love
The album, which I guess we’re nicknaming YSPSFAGSIL(?), is once again produced by Rodrigo’s longtime collaborator Dan Nigro — who is also known for his work with Chappell Roan and Conan Gray.
It will feature 13 songs (SOUR had 11 and GUTS had 12 on its standard edition), although the tracklist has yet to be released.
Rodrigo first began teasing her new era late last year and revealed in interviews that it will have a different vibe than her first two albums.
Speaking to ELLE in October 2025, she said, “It’s nice to be home from touring, to really get to sink my teeth into new songs and new sounds and new stories. I’m having a really good time”, and added that the new record feels “so different” now that she’s older and more experienced.
She echoed that idea in earlier interviews, explaining that as she grows and gains new perspectives, “it’s impossible for that not to be reflected in your songwriting”, and that she hopes the next album will feel “more mature and like a different take on things”.

All the easter eggs Olivia Rodrigo dropped about OR3
Over the past fortnight, Livies had been tracking a mural campaign like it was their full‑time job.
A purple logo wall appeared in Los Angeles last month before being repainted a little lighter each night, moving from deep purple into a dusky pink. The wall was eventually completed on Thursday, April 2, revealing the official title of her third album.
Matching walls had also popped up in various cities around the world, including Berlin and Sydney, and UK fans found a heart‑shaped lock with Rodrigo’s logo and “April” written on the side in London.
Rodrigo herself had also spent months colour-coding — she wore a blush pink Saint Laurent gown to the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, which her official fan account posted with the caption, “Liv at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party. Don’t ask us the colour of anything”, and then turned up in another pale pink dress at the Chloé show during Paris Fashion Week in early March.
Will Olivia Rodrigo tour Australia?
Tour‑wise, nothing has been announced yet. However, the new landing page for her website features a poster with the text ‘OR On Tour — Coming To A City Near You’, which is basically confirmation that something’s coming soon.
Given Rodrigo brought the GUTS World Tour to both Melbourne and Sydney and managed to sell out multiple arena dates here, fans are already manifesting that the next era will scale up to stadiums if (or when) she returns. If I don’t get tickets again, I’ll riot.
