Olivia Rodrigo Calls Out Trump Govt. For Using Her Song For ‘Racist, Hateful Propaganda’

Filipina-American singer Olivia Rodrigo has brutally slammed the Trump administration after it used one of her tracks in a video supporting the Government’s deportation efforts.

Earlier this week, the White House and Department of Homeland Security shared a video promoting self-deportation to the tune of Rodrigo’s hit song “All-American Bitch”.

The video shows what happens during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrest versus self-deportation via a government app.

Shortly after it was shared, Rodrigo commented under the video herself, slamming the government for using her music “to promote your racist, hateful propaganda”.

This isn’t the first time Rodrigo has slammed the US Government’s deportation efforts.

In June, at the height of Los Angeles’ anti-ICE protests, which stemmed from large-scale anti-immigration raids across the Californian city, Rodrigo slammed Donald Trump‘s decision to deploy 2,000 National Guard troops to aid in shutting down the protests, as well as his anti-immigration operations.

“I’ve lived in LA my whole life, and I’m deeply upset about these violent deportations of my neighbours under the current administration. LA simply wouldn’t exist without immigrants,” Rodrigo wrote.

“Treating hardworking community members with such little respect, empathy, and due process is awful. I stand with the beautiful, diverse community of Los Angeles and with immigrants all across America. I stand for our right to freedom of speech and freedom to protest.”

At the time of writing, it appears that Rodrigo’s comment and her song have been removed from the post. However, her fans and many other punters have taken to the comments to reshare Rodrigo’s original comment, as well as slam the government for their anti-immigration policies.

The singer has remained silent since sharing the scathing comment. However, a spokesperson for the US Department of Homeland Security told TMZ that “We suggest Ms Rodrigo thank them for their service, not belittle their sacrifice”.

“America is grateful all the time for our federal law enforcement officers who keep us safe.”
