Olivia Newton-John shared heartfelt photo with husband shortly before death

Olivia Newton-John shared a heartwarming photo featuring her loving husband John Easterling shortly before she died.

The Grease actress "peacefully" passed away yesterday at the age of 73 (August 8) and was reportedly surrounded by her family at her ranch in Southern California. The tragic news was shared by her husband in a statement on social media.

It has now been revealed that Olivia shared a photo of her and her husband just two days before passing away. In the photo, the movie star could be seen cuddling up to her husband while smiling, the Mirror reports.

In the photo, Olivia can be seen wearing a white, green and pink floral-designed top accompanied by a pair of denim jeans. She is looking away from the camera and smiling off into the distance while her husband, who she married in 2008, is also looking away from the camera while lovingly embracing his wife.

The throwback photo was shared by Olivia to her 511,000 Instagram followers with the caption: "#flashbackfriday" accompanied by a red heart emoji. Following the actress' death, John shared a photo of Olivia smiling to announce that she had passed away.

Posting the image on social media, John wrote: "Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.

"Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org).

"Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall."

He then signed the statement off with: "via John Easterling, husband, Olivia Newton-John". The pair met when Olivia was 59, just a year after her ex Patrick McDermott went missing during a boat trip.

When discussing the tragedy and how she dealt with it, Olivia told People Magazine in 2016: "I dated a little bit, but I wasn't expecting to fall in love with him and then bam!

"I'm very lucky I have a wonderful, beautiful husband who is just so loving and fantastic. I always tell my friends you're never too old to find love. I found the love of my life at 59 going on 60! I'm grateful."
