Ola Solbakken to Celtic transfer latest as Bodo Glimt star faces uncertain future after injury blow

Bodo/Glimt aren't sure how long Ola Solbakken will be out for as the reported Celtic target gets set to undergo surgery on his ankle.

The talented Norwegian winger is said to be on Ange Postecoglou 's agenda as a contingency plan for Jota.

The Portuguese winger is currently on loan from Benfica and Celtic have a £6m option to buy - with a deal being one of their main priorities.

But nothing is certain and the Daily Mail reported they see 23-year-old Solbakken as the ideal plan B.

One of Bodo's key men, he was a star of their run to the Europa Conference League semi-finals and scored against Celtic in the playoff round second leg.

However speaking after the Norwegian Cup final defeat to Molde on Thursday, Solbakken confirmed he will go under the knife after picking up a knock to the ankle.

Speaking after the game he played the issue down, saying: "It is not a big deal, but something that must be done."

However a report from Norwegian outlet VG say Bodo are unsure how long he will be out for and a prolonged absence could impact his chances of a summer transfer.

The Norwegian season only started in March and Solbakken had already notched a goal and two assists in the opening four league games.

Reports in Italy have suggested Roma are keen on him too after he netter a double against them in the Conference League group stage.

It's said he will be available for just £1.6m and if he is fit and playing again by the time the European transfer window opens, it is likely offers will arrive.
