Two teams heading in different directions this season will meet in a Friday night Big Ten clash when the Ohio State Buckeyes take on the Northwestern Wildcats. With Ohio State looking to keep a potential College Football Playoff berth intact and Northwestern looking to turn its season around, there is plenty on the line when these squads take the field in Evanston.

Ohio State took care of business against Michigan State in their last game to push their record to 6-0 for the season. The Buckeyes picked up 529 yards on offense in the game, with running back J.K. Dobbins leading the charge. Dobbins rushed for 172 yards and a touchdown in the 34-10 game. The 24 point margin of victory was the closest game Ohio State has played through their first six contests, and they’re looking like an early contender for a College Football Playoff spot.
Northwestern is coming off of a bye week after dropping their most recent game in a 13-10 defensive struggle against Nebraska. Both teams were evenly matched throughout, with the Cornhuskers needing a last-second field goal to come away with the victory. Northwestern is 1-1 at home heading into this matchup, with the Wildcats defeating UNLV and losing to Michigan State earlier in the year. An upset at home over the Buckeyes would change the outlook on their entire season despite their 1-4 start.
