Ohio State vs. Arkansas State Buckeyes Wire staff predictions

After taking care of business during some national mixed reviews against a top-five Notre Dame squad last week, Ohio State continues its journey in the 2022 season against Sun Belt conference foe Arkansas State.

It’s a game many believe the Buckeyes should win rather easily, but that doesn’t mean the Red Wolves won’t come into the ‘Shoe with a game plan and attitude to swing as hard as they can.

Each week, we throw it over to our three writers to provide a prediction and reason for what will happen in the next game on Ohio State’s schedule, and we’re doing the same here. Will the Buckeyes roll or will Arkansas State provide a stiffer than expected test?

Here’s what Phil, Mark, and Josh say about how things will play out Saturday afternoon against the Red Wolves.

Look for the Ohio State offense to come alive after a Tough Mudder-type affair against Notre Dame. C.J. Stroud will go for over 350 yards and the defense will build upon what it did last week. Athlete for athlete there’s just no comparison between the two schools. Buckeyes roll.

There may have been some first-game jitters going on last week against Notre Dame. I don’t expect there to be much of that going on now. The Buckeyes will be the far superior team when Arkansas State comes to Columbus this week. And it won’t be pretty for the Red Wolves.

OSU rolls to an easy win.

The last time Ohio State played a Sun Belt team it was Troy in 2008 when they won 28-10 and I expect similar results this time.
