Ohio State safety Isaiah Pryor has entered the transfer portal

Ohio State’s junior safety Isaiah Pryor has entered the transfer portal. Pryor, who came to Ohio State in 2017 as the No. 8 ranked safety in the nation, was the team’s backup free safety.

He was originally ranked as the team’s No. 2 free safety behind senior Jordan Fuller.

He was, however, still positioned higher than sophomore Josh Proctor so one could assume Pryor saw the writing on the wall that he’d eventually be overtaken prior to starting his senior season.

That, and the fact that Ohio State has mostly been utilizing one high safety in most situations has left Pryor with less playing time than he likely envisioned.

That, for now, is just theory, but after three seasons as a Buckeye, it seems as though Pryor will now look for a place that he can get more time on the field.

He could potentially sit out next season to complete his degree. This news of Pryor’s plans was first released by ESPN’s Tom VanHarren.

It was later confirmed by Ohio State.

Pryor will undoubtedly be aiming at another top FBS program, much like Joe Burrow did when he transferred to LSU. It isn’t disclosed where Pryor’s ideal next school will be.

Pryor saw snaps in 17 games through his first two seasons.
