Ohio State loses out to Georgia on 5-star 2020 RB Kendall Milton

It was a bit expected, and it would have been a shocker at this point if one of the best backs on the 2020 class picked Ohio State, but there was still hope. In the end, where we thought things were leaning happened with five-star running back Kendall Milton choosing Georgia over the Buckeyes, LSU and Alabama.

For Ohio State, with the recent rumors about two other top backs that were thought to be pretty solid moving away from OSU, this one still stings a bit. Milton supposedly had a great visit in Columbus as the first of his four visits to each of his finalists, but things shifted as he went through the process with the SEC schools.

At 6-1, 229 lbs., Milton is a bit of a throwback. He’s a bigger bodied back that should be an every down guy that more downhill rather than a scat-type runner. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have the breakaway speed to get in and through the second level.

He is rated as the No. 4 back and 22nd overall recruit in the entire class of 2020 according to 247Sports.

Ohio State will now set its sights on the likes of Bijan Robinson, Laytan Knightson and others, though those are also a bit foggy at this point.
