Ohio State G Wyatt Davis named the Vikings’ steal of the draft

Minnesota had some holes on the offensive line last year, which were exposed by some teams playing them.

The Vikings struggled to protect the quarterback as the team fell to 7-9. PFF named Minnesota the 26th best offensive line in the NFL. At least the Vikings added plenty of draft capital to try and change that.

Minnesota took Virginia Tech OL Christian Darrisaw in the first round, then nabbed Ohio State OL Wyatt Davis in the third round. Luke Easterling, who works for our friends at Draft Wire, tabbed Davis as the Vikings’ steal of the draft.

That makes sense. Despite being taken in the third round, many had Davis as one of the top interior linemen in this draft. Better yet: Davis has a chance to come in and start as soon as 2021.

If players like Darrisaw and Davis can adjust to the NFL quickly, Kirk Cousins might have more time in the pocket next season, making the Vikings offense all the more menacing.
