Ohio State Football: Justin Fields calls decision to transfer the “best” he’s ever made

There’s no denying that, for a high-profile 18-year-old five-star recruit, deciding on where to spend your collegiate days is not easy. Justin Fields, while in high school, wanted to play for his home-state Bulldogs.

And who could blame him?

After getting to Athens, Georgia, Fields also decided that he didn’t want to spend his days as a backup to starting quarterback Jake Fromm. Had he stayed, he’d likely still be backing up Fromm.

That said, with an opening in Columbus, Fields left one of the nation’s best programs for another.

Let’s just say after an 8-0 start to the season, Fields isn’t regretting his decision one bit. He actually, according to 247 Sports’ Dave Biddle, called it the “best decision he’s ever made.”

The No. 2 overall player in the class of 2018 has been dominant for the Buckeyes.

Fields has totaled over 1,600 yards in the air to go along with 24 touchdowns and just one interception. Tack onto that another nine touchdowns and 300-plus yards on the ground, and it’s clear that he’s among the Heisman hopefuls.

Overall, Fields seems to have no regrets about taking his talent to Columbus, and the Buckeyes certainly have no regrets giving him the reigns to this team.
