A Queanbeyan woman has become the country's newest multimillionaire after winning $60 million in the Powerball lottery last night.
The woman held the only division one ticket in Australia on Thursday, May 28, granting her the full jackpot.
"Oh my god! Holy crap!" she said on the phone to Powerball officials when her winnings were revealed.
"I'm just sitting here watching the women's State of Origin."
The New South Wales woman said she had changed her numbers at the last-minute. Her entry also scored division two 19 times, bolstering her total prize to $60.6 million.
"My mouth's gone all dry - this is insane. You have no idea how much my head is spinning right now," she said.
"I'm just an everyday worker paying off mortgage, struggling with cost of living.
"I'll keep working for now ... but it might not be full time."
She said she wanted to share the money with family and "make sure everyone is comfortable".
"It's nuts!"
