Odsonne Edouard transfer latest as Arsenal 'very keen' but former Celtic hero could flip the script

Arsenal are reportedly "very keen" on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard - but will only make a move if they lose their top stars.

The Gunners have previously been linked with a move for the French striker as his reputation continues to grow.

Bleacher Report claim that interest is concrete, but a big-money move isn't likely if both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette remain at the Emirates next season.

Skipper Aubameyang is set to enter the final year of his contract with no renewal yet agreed, while it's said Lacazette could also seek a move elsewhere.

But Arsenal eyes could be drawn away from Edouard towards his old Parkhead partner Moussa Dembele.

It's reported the Lyon striker and Real Madrid's Luka Jovic are among other options considered by boss Mikel Arteta.

In June, Celtic opened talks with Edouard over a new contract.

Boss Neil Lennon said: " “Yes, there are talks with Edouard now. These are ongoing with his representatives.

“Ultimately, he’s a player we want around. He had a magnificent season and we want to keep him. It’s as simple as that.

“We’re doing everything we can to keep him here for at least another season.

“I think he’s happy here. He has got a fantastic relationship with his team-mates and you can see how much the fans appreciate him, which is reciprocated.

“Odsonne’s grown into a top-class striker and of course, there’s going to be speculation around him but we’re comfortable with the position we’re in.

“He seems pretty happy and we’re looking forward to seeing him at training.

“We’d love to discuss things with him, and a few other players as well.”
